Ternoshorska Lada is a rock complex on the southern slope of Mount Ternoshora (about 990 m) between the villages of Snidavka and Yavoriv in the Kosiv area of the Ukrainian Carpathians. You cannot drive up to the rocks: the last part of the way is a forest walk along the Bezulka stream.
The route at a glance

Getting to Snidavka
From Kosiv: Snidavka is roughly 20–25 km away (sources differ). Take the road from Kosiv towards Yavoriv and Verkhovyna, turn at the Snidavka sign and continue on a dirt road to the village.
From Ivano-Frankivsk or Kolomyia: travel via Kosiv. From Verkhovyna: take the same road in the opposite direction; the Snidavka turn comes before Yavoriv.
By car: the tarmac ends at the main road. The dirt road to the village is usually fine for a regular car in dry weather, but after long rain, in spring and in winter some sections may need a 4×4. Ask your hosts about current conditions.
By public transport: buses from Kosiv exist but are irregular. A pre-arranged transfer or a taxi from Kosiv is more reliable.
On foot to Lada
The path runs through the Ternoshory tract, a local forest reserve of about 10 ha created in 1996. First you will hear Ternoshorskyi Huk, a small waterfall where the stream crosses hard sandstone. A little further is a natural stone pool known locally as the Nymphs’ Pool, and then the trail climbs to the rocks: the stone circle, the phallic stone, the passage and the chthonic serpent, the Lada figure and the Solar Gate.
When to go
Late spring to autumn is easiest, when the trail is dry. After heavy rain the stream rises and rocks become slippery; in winter both the road and the path may be snowy, so go with a local guide. Check the forecast on snidavka.com.

- Shoes with a good grip.
- Water and snacks — there are no shops near the rocks.
- A rain jacket: mountain weather changes fast.
- An offline map; mobile coverage in the forest is patchy.
- A bag to take your rubbish back.
Please respect the place
Ternoshory is a protected area and a site many people regard as sacred. No fires near the rocks, no carving on stone, no litter, and do not climb steep boulders without experience and protection.
